Premio Comel 2015 per l’arte contemporanea: iscrizioni aperte per la IV edizione

Il premio Comel per l’arte contemporanea ‘Vanna Migliorin’ è giunto alla quarta edizione ed è annoverato tra i premi d’arte contemporanea più significativi del momento. Si tratta di un’occasione unica per gli artisti dell’Unione europea, vista la richiesta dell’uso peculiare dell’alluminio come materiale d’elezione per l’elaborazione dell’opera d’arte.
E’ un appuntamento che riscuote sempre più interesse da parte di critica, pubblico e importanti Istituzioni internazionali (si ricorda, tra gli altri il recente endorsement dell’Arts Council of England), una sfida stimolante che mette in gioco nuove sintesi di materiali e progetti.
Il bando 2015 è stato appena messo in rete e già si profila un forte interesse persino oltre i confini europei (tuttavia, per ora, non verranno prese in considerazioni opere provenienti da altri continenti, spiegano gli organizzatori).
Questa nuova edizione è dedicata al tema della leggerezza. “Leggero come alluminio” è il titolo del bando in cui si legge: “La leggerezza dell’alluminio e delle sue leghe ha permesso all’uomo, come è noto, di intraprendere sfide epocali che hanno segnato la storia dell’umanità, e che ancora caratterizzano la società contemporanea: dai grandi viaggi intercontinentali con aerei e navi alle imprese che hanno visto l’uomo proiettarsi verso lo spazio.
La leggerezza d’altra parte non è solo una proprietà fisica, ha mille altre declinazioni, riflesse nella sfera emozionale e psichica dell’uomo e altresì nel suo universo metaforico e creativo. La leggerezza dell’alluminio ispira altre leggerezze, dell’essere e del sentire, nell’immaginazione e nella realtà.”
C’è tempo fino al 31 dicembre 2014 per iscriversi (per info dettagliate: www.premiocomel.it), dopodiché una giuria qualificata stabilirà chi saranno i tredici artisti che potranno partecipare alla mostra tematica dal 21 marzo al 18 aprile dell’anno successivo. Possono partecipare opere edite o inedite, realizzate con qualsiasi tecnica: pittura, scultura, design, video, fotografia ed installazione. Tra le tredici opere esposte verrà scelta la vincitrice.
Pino Deodato è stato il vincitore assoluto della scorsa edizione.

Comel 'Vanna Migliorin' Award 2015 for contemporary art, IV edition
Call for the artists of the European Union
The Comel 'Vanna Migliorin' Award, now in its fourth edition and ranked among the most meaningful contemporary art prizes, is proving to be a unique opportunity for artists of the European Union. It is an event that collects more and more interest from critics, public and relevant international institutions that promote art (among others the recent endorsement of the Arts Council of England). It represents an exciting challenge that involves the synthesis of new materials and concepts.
The 2015 call has just been put online (www.premiocomel.it) and there is already a strong interest even beyond the borders of Europe (however, for now, the organizers have announced that works from other continents will not be taken into consideration).
The Come Award is peculiar, for the sole use of aluminum as a material of choice. This new edition theme is Lightness. "Light as aluminum" is the title of the notice which states:
“The theme of the 2015 COMEL Award is ‘Lightness’, a feature that has made the aluminum one of the most used materials in the world in the fields of production and transport. The lightness of aluminum and of its alloys has enabled man, as is known, to undertake epochal challenges that have marked the history of mankind, and that still characterize contemporary society: from the great intercontinental flights and journeys with airplanes and ships to enterprises who have seen human beings projected into space.
The lightness, on the other hand, is not only a physical property; it has many other forms, which are reflected in the emotional and mental frame of man and also as a metaphorical and creative universe. The lightness of aluminum inspires other lightness, of being and feeling, in imagination and reality.”
It is possible to subscribe until December 31, 2014 (for detailed information: www.premiocomel.it). After this date a qualified panel of judges will choose the thirteen artists who will participate in the thematic exhibition from 21 March to 18 April of the following year. Artists can participate with released or unreleased works, made using any technique: painting, sculpture, design, video, photography and installation. The winner will be chosen among the thirteen works on display.
Pino Deodato, a well-known Italian artist, was the absolute winner of the last edition.
